embe estate

a long table, in the jungle.

The Embe Estate Table is a private dinner held a few times a year on a small agricultural estate near Jozani, in the south of Zanzibar. One long table under the embe (mango) trees. Local produce, wood fire, and a quiet evening in the bush. By invitation only.

The estate

Embe Estate is a working botanical and agricultural site operated by EMBE Foundation. It is part research station, part garden, part kitchen — a place to study how plant systems hold balance through the seasons. The table is the Estate's open evening.

When

Late Kuzi (August) for the late-season table. Vuli (October–November) during embe harvest. Dates published on the calendar.
